FROM BLOUSE TO PURSE - SOLOLA

Sololá celebrates the artistry of Guatemalan women weavers.
Each purse upcycles a vintage huipil
(a traditional woman's blouse woven on the backstrap loom)
to create an individual statement.
Turned inside-out, the huipils are an explosion of color and hand work.
Each purse is assembled by Guatemalan artisans in Antigua
from textiles sourced at the famous Chichicastenango Market.

I want one!

TWO SCARVES

Weaving two scarves at the same time.
This has nothing to do with speeding up my production,
it's just a 'white' and a 'black' one.
A little graphic experiment.
Also a different tie-up but the same threading.
No twins at all...

PATTERN DESIGN

She creates patterns out of salt using her voice.

Maybe I should try this at work...

(I draw textile patterns for a living,

weaving is at night and at home :-)

NICE FURNITURE FABRIC

Love the colours and the gradient, gives me ideas...
The fabric is made out of PVC, for outdoor use.
Would suit my garden just fine! :-)

BAG LADY

Very proud of this one,
a co-operation with the bag lady Dominique Dufait,
the MOOD bag.
You can see her other classy designs on
http://www.b-used.be/.
Maybe more to come! :-)

RECYCLE BASKET WEAVING!

Old plastic bins are recycled and get new again - holes are mended and plastic pieces are woven together with wicker, rattan and weed. Every bin is unique.
All Bins are handmade in Germany by local basket makers.

TROUVAILLES 2

Found these nice old wool swatches in a secondhand shop,
probably handspun wool in very natural colours.
Some are soft, some are tickly...
Maybe I will use them, maybe not...
