FINLAND - THE LOOMS THAT CROSSED MY PATH

At the house of Emil Wikström, Visavuori in Valkeakoski

At the house of Eliel Saarinen, Hvitträsk, Kirkkonummi

At the Friends of Finnish Handicraft, Helsinki

At the open air museum in Lieksa

Again the open air museum in Lieksa

Kuopio Museum of Cultural History

The Craft Museum of Finland, Jyväskylä

Museum of Central Finland, Jyväskylä

Never in my travelling life I have seen this much looms,
and most of them I saw by accident.
Maybe that's why I enjoyed our trip so much...

Next blogpost some Finnish textiles.
Or some Alvar Aalto architecture.
Or some nature pictures.
Just too much to show you.

What I am working on at the moment?
A blue scarf,
preparing an exhibition in december,
and trying to work on my new loom.
I did some heavy cleaning in my atelier,
for a photoshoot of our house,
but probably more about all that later!

+ It's getting cold here.
Time for some scarfweaving :-)

  1. I love that bench in the second last photo! Maybe it is because I need a new weaving bench for my long legs.

I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the images from your trip and that blue scarf. It's scarf weather here too, I need to get a new project on my loom!
