I'M WEAVING SHOES

This time it's for me.
I'm weaving a fabric for shoes.
Above they are in leather,
but mine will have my own woven (very) blue fabric.
This man is making them for me,
happy I have found him. :-)

A LONG WEEKEND

This weekend of 4 days has given me the time to work good and slowly.
The scarf is almost finished, maybe 10 cm more to weave.
But the sun is shining,
I'm joining the cats in the garden...

SWITCH

I had to make a sudden switch from the summer scarves
to a new (secret) winter scarf,
to get it ready for a certain date...
I can't tell you more.
I'm having fun.
That's the most important thing...
:-)

GOOD AND BAD

Good: The scarf looks great  and I enjoy weaving it very much.

Bad: I'm having quite some trouble with my warp 
and the threads are breaking constantly.
I don't think I will be selling this piece, 
but because of this incident I'm having an idea for a future project,
using the bad for something good.

I'm finishing it anyway.
Learning from my mistakes... ;-)

EASTER WEEKEND

 

The weekend started with Maison Louis Carré by Alvar Aalto.

 

 Then we went on to the city of Angers: the beautiful tapestries of the Apocalypse in the Castle,

 

 the crazy tapestries of Jean Lurçat,

 

 in the museum of Jean Lurçat other textiles, like this one of Alexander Calder

 

and Brita Been, a textile artist from Norway.

 

We slept in a small castle and this was the morning view.

 

 And I bought a book with this lesson in it.

 I'm filled with inspiration to go back to weaving now...

SUMMERSCARF ONE OUT OF TWO

For those in need of a summerscarf!
Give me a few weeks and it's for sale.

IMPRESSIONS

Bag fabric is finished,
but now I'm scared to use it.
That was predictable.

And I'm making a new warp,
for two (summer)scarves
I'm not making on demand,
so in a few weeks,
maybe a first one for sale.
